Graduated Row Sapphire Beaded Necklace in Gold Vermeil

A sapphire beaded necklace, with gold vermeil chain.

This classic and elegant necklace has blue sapphire beads pinned onto gold-plated sterling silver curb chain.  The faceted rondelle-shaped stones are arranged in a neat row, densely spaced at the front and gradually fading out towards the back of the neck.  There is a subtle ombré effect as the colour of the sapphires fades from deep blue to a paler sky blue tone.  The curb chain is delicate but still has a satisfying weight to it.

Easy to dress up or down, this is a great alternative to a simple chain necklace.  If you’re looking for something more dramatic you might like the Sapphire Ombré Full Row Necklace.

Sapphire is the birthstone for September.

Closes with a lobster clasp and oval extension chain finished with a single sapphire.

All Kate Wood jewellery is crafted by hand in Kate’s Bristol studio and comes beautifully packaged in a branded box.

‘Wisteria’ Sapphire Beaded Earrings

Sapphire beaded earrings.  A beautifully tapered cluster of faceted blue sapphire beads with a graceful shape inspired by wisteria blossom.  The natural stones show a range of beautiful colours from pale sky blue to cornflower blue and deeper.  The rich yellow tone of the gold vermeil brings warmth and contrast to the cool blues of the sapphires.

Each bead is meticulously wire wrapped by hand onto delicate trace chain with a hand-made pin.

A classic, versatile and very feminine pair of drop earrings.  Sapphires are the birthstone for September.

At 4cm long these are mid-length earrings, around jaw-length, and flatter most face shapes.  If you like this style but you’re looking for something more petite, consider the Grape Earrings, or for more drama try the Sapphire Ombré or Waterfall earrings.

Focus on Emeralds

One of my absolute favourite stones, emeralds exhibit a gorgeous range of green hues. They range from the traditional ’emerald green’ through to the palest mint, stopping off at vibrant kelly green along the way.  Take a look at my emerald ombré Row Necklace and Catkin Earrings, which display this colour range beautifully. Emeralds are part of the beryl family…
